The World's Largest Plasma Gasification Facility Processing Hazardous Waste
SMS Infrastructures Limited (SMSIL), Central India’s largest civil engineering and infrastructure development company, is using the Westinghouse Plasma Gasification plasma technology and reactor vessel design for two 72 tonnes-per-day energy recovery from hazardous waste plants in India.
The construction is complete at both facilities, located in Pune and Nagpur, India. Each plant provides comprehensive disposal services for a wide variety of hazardous waste, and will produce up to 1.6 MW (net) of electricity.
As a result of these facilities, the number of commercial energy from waste facilities using Alter NRG’s plasma gasification technology has doubled from two to four.
